Tea for two and two for tea...

None for me and two for you....or something like that.
(Actually those were my original lyrics, sorry.)

The song was written in 1925, the year my father was born, the musical was No, No, Nanette, which was performed at the London Palace Theatre, way back then in the Roaring 20's, and ran for many, many years.

However, I digress.

The reason I penned my own version is because, sadly, I'm only able to imagine how good these taste(d). Just like having tea-4-2.

I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO TASTE ONE!!!

They were demolished before my eyes. Poof!! All I was left with was the dishes to wash, condescending pats of congratulations on my back, (GOOD biscuits Mum), and one or two crumbs to wipe up.

Thank you Cherrapeno; apparently these were "tops".

Love the No, No, Nanette reference!

Pam, how rude...none for you?! Mine would no doubt be guilty of doing exactly the same thing.

Lucy, that is one of the main reasons I don't "bake" much. All gone before you can shake a tea towel. Futile really!!

LOL, how funny! I always sneak a couple of whatever I'm making to put to one side, but then this recipe doesn't make that many!
They look really good - great photo and gorgeous tea service you have there.
I'm glad your family liked them - hope they weren't too fiddly to make!

Thanks Nicisme, what a great idea...a secret "Pam stash". I'll have to remember that in future. They weren't too fiddly to make, I just need to double the batch next time.
